The Speed of Light

Introduction

The speed of light, c, more properly given as the velocity of electromagnetic radiation in a vacuum, is a fundamental physical constant, in current physical theory the maximum speed at which energy, matter or information can propigate through space. [1]

Maxwell's equations predicted that fluctuations in electromagnetic fields propigated at a constant velocity, which, because measurements had shown was the velocity at which light travelled, indicated that light is an electromagnetic phenomenon, these electromagnetic waves propigating through space at a fantastc velocity. Einstein theorised that the velocity of light in a vacuum is the same for all observers, no matter what their motion, a pillar of his special theory of relativity. The fundamental nature of c is enshrined in his famous formula

E = mc^2

The value of c is exactly

2.99792458 ms^-1

As befitting its importance to our understanding of the universe, an accurate approximation of c is found in Genesis 1.1, in a geometric construction similar to the one by which an approximation if  y (gamma) was discovered, and which again is implied in the numerical values of the Hebrew Bible's opening seven words  As with the encoding of y, the encoding of c is linked to the name Jesus Christ.

The Numerical and Geometric Setting

I showed in the previous page on Euler's constant that  words1, 5 and 6 of Genesis 1.1, which sum to 913, 395 and 407, can be manipulateed to give the number 925, standard value of 'Jesus Christ' in English, a language that was yet to evolve.

913 - 395 + 407 = 925

Jesus Christ (s) = 925

The sum of the entire first verse is 2701, which is the number of counters forming what is called the Creation triangle. 925 counters form an isoceles triangle within the larger figure, stretching from the base to its central counter.

Triangle 2701 925 247

If we now reverse the addition and subtraction of words 5 and 6 from word 1, we obtain the number 901, which is also the standard value of an important English phrase.

913 + 395 - 407 ..................= 901

Christ's Second Coming (s) = 901

 The number 901 is the 25th centred triangle, which is the largest such figure that will fit inside triangle 2701. The construction is shown below. Note that three right-angled triangles of 600 counters are created, this being the combined value of both 'Jesus' and 'The Light'!

Triangle 2701 901

The Light (c) ...........................= 600

The Speed of Light

The constant c is calculated in the following way.

2701/901 = 2.99778024. . . .

c = 2.99792458 x 10^8 ms-1

If we ignore the exponent, as with previously found encodings of pi and e in Genesis 1.1 and John 1.1, we have a number that underestimates c by only 1 part in 20800 (0.005%). [2]

Astoundingly, this is the same error as the  encoding of Euler's constant, y, described in the previous page!
